One Night at Flumpty's Wiki

Jonathan, best known as Jonochrome (Formerly JonBro or tehjonbro), is a Flash animator, composer, YouTuber, and game developer. He is the creator of the popular Riddle School series on Newgrounds, the One Night at Flumpty's trilogy, and other miscellaneous indie games. He was also part of the group that created satirical comics featuring Flumpty and Birthday Boy Blam (most of which are now lost.)

During the development of the ONaF series

One Night at Flumpty's

The first game in the series was created by Jonathan in order to test his skills in creating games using the GameMaker engine. In addition, the game was created solely as an internal joke between Jon and his friends, with whom he had previously created comics, from which two characters of the future series of games were taken (if you consider Blam and Kevin Jr. as one character). Jon's friend, Jake "metroidman347", also participated in the development.

Despite its extraordinariness, the game received acclaim and was considered one of the best Five Nights at Freddy's fangames.

One Night at Flumpty's 2

After seeing the success of the first game, Jonochrome decided to create a sequel, but to make it as unique as possible and unlike both the previous game and the games from the FNaF series in its gameplay. Jon also announced that the game will be the last in the series. Nevertheless, it has received no less positive reviews for its uniqueness. Jake also helped Jonathan develop the sequel.

Between the first and second game, Jon also posted on Game Jolt the April Fool's version of the second game as a prank.

One Week at Flumpty's

After the second game was a success, Jon decided to make the third and final installment of the franchise. The game was supposed to be even more unique and ambitious in terms of gameplay than the previous one. Jake was still involved in the development, but for the last time in the franchise. However, Jon canceled the game because he didn't like working on it, and in the middle of development, he discovered a bug that allowed players to lock the antagonists in one place for the rest of the night.

In this regard, Jon ended the ONaF series, preferring to pursue other original games unrelated to FNaF.

One Night at Flumpty's 3

Johnochrom was motivated again to make the third and final game of the series after Scott Cawthon organized The Fazbear Fanverse Initiative and invited Jon to join it. Jon agreed, but Scott also said he didn't have to do the third game if he didn't want to.

Eventually, Jon began development and secretly completed the game long before its release. Phil "Phisnom" Morg, who was responsible for bug fixes, also participated in the development.

  • Jonochrome Plays is, as the name implies, Jon's game channel, on which he posted walkthroughs of various games, including games from the FNaF series.
  • Jono's Junk Drawer is a channel with out—of-context videos, in particular memes. The last upload on this channel was on October 8th 2021.

Allegations, Scandal, Response, & Backlash

On November 8, 2021, following the release of One Night at Flumpty's 3 (a game Jon developed for the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative by Scott Cawthon), an anonymous user on Twitter called out Jonochrome with serious accusations via a TwitLonger. According to the alleged detailings, Jon had been in a romantic relationship with a minor whom he planned to meet when she turned 18. In the replies, Jonochrome responded and confirmed that most of his actions and the accusations were true, though he and the victim had cut off the relationship sometime beforehand. Jon received significant backlash from fans and other individuals, as he was the adult in this situation. He soon made a second and longer response going into further detail, before leaving the Internet.

The victim, now an adult, responded with a 17-page-long thread as soon as she realized what was revealed in public. She discussed how Jon wasn't completely guiltless in this situation and how wrong it was, however, seemingly forgiving him as a friend. While the original Twitter thread has since been deleted, it has since been reuploaded onto Web Archive, which can be seen here.

For three years by now Jonohrome had been partaking in intensive therapy and attending health facilities, as with the passing aftermath, he realized failures in emotional and cognitive development while growing up. At the moment, as Jon stated in the video called "Doing Better", released on November 14th 2024, he is still developing some games on side (which Jon also told about in his YouTube channel description) and says, that he won't be nearly as active in social media.

On January 8, 2025, Jonochrome posted another longer video on the Jonochrome Plays channel, in which he spoke in more detail about what happened during his absence and answered some questions, including questions about the sequel to Riddle School and the release of One Night at Flumpty's: The Egg Collection.
